Eric Thompson has over 24 years of law enforcement experience coupled with over 8 years of experience in counseling at-risk teens, young adults, and adults. His passion for the youth and the community influenced his decision to leave law enforcement and pursue counseling and mentoring full-time. Eric has a Master’s degree in Community
Counseling, which further supports his desire to have a positive impact on the
Community. Exposure to various professional and personal life experiences ensures his
comfort level in working with individuals of all ethnicities, socio-economic status, and
religious affiliations.
Eric’s lived experiences have allowed him to acquire an in depth understanding of the
dilemmas and challenges that face today’s youth, young adults and adults, which
ultimately impacts their everyday decisions and future consequences. His passion and
commitment to educating and mentoring youth and young adults became evident through his work at Humble Beginnings Counseling & Wellness Center has been astounding in working men and boys alike. He has been a part of the family since the doors were opened readily available to help repair men in ways he can relate, share, assist, and give a protected space for vulnerability and accountability in our men.
